Essential questions are questions about something that means a lot to us, and they often cause us to wonder about them for a very long time.   Essential questions make us wonder about them and they can make us think differently about the world.   The answers to essential questions are not out there for you to see; you have to make your own answer.   It is often needed to use different subjects of learning to find different perspectives to help form your answer.

One question I often think about is, why do people think killing people in wars will settle problems?  I really think about this a lot because many people say that violence is never the answer, so why would we use such a gruesome way to settle problems?  Also, another question bothers my mind, why do people kill themselves?  I just don't understand how people don't see how many opportunities they could have in the future that could make them feel better.  I can't wrap my mind around the fact that people could become so dejected that they would want to cut their own life short.  Also, I think about the different conditions of people in the world, and wonder why rich people don't donate more to poor people.  Rich people have so much money to spare, so it seems unnecessary to keep it to do nothing with it.  There are people who are in deep poverty so I wonder why rich people living lavish, luxurious lives don't help them out.

I have learned a lot about essential questions and the way they affect our lives.  To learn, we can't always be asked questions, we sometimes have to think of them on our own.  When we wonder about things, we start to see our questions from a different perspective.   We can use different subjects in education to help ourselves form different ways to look at the question we're wondering about.  Now, I need to let myself wonder about things more often and ask more questions so that I can learn more on my own and find different perspectives to look at the world.
